Day 18 – Munising, Michigan to Bemidji, Minnesota

Some days are simply travel days.

Not a lot of cool things to see or do.

We pack up the camper, run through our check list, and then hit the road.

It was time to leave Munising, Michigan after two days and head to Bemidji, Minnesota as we head for home.

Our camping spot at the Munising Tourist Camping Park was right on Lake Superior – with incredible views in the morning and in the evening.

We set our chairs up looking out over the beach area – and it was fun to spend some time each evening relaxing and enjoying the view.

Aurora enjoyed the sand and running along the beach. She is still afraid of the waves - so we stay well back from the water.

We left Munising and headed to U.S. Route 2 – electing to take a more “northern route” home and providing some different scenery than driving along I90 and I94. Our route on U.S. 2 will take us through the northern parts of Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana and Idaho over the remainder of the week.

We are pretty diligent to take a break on long travel days every couple of hours – and we often find nice city parks to take a break and let Aurora take a potty break.

We enjoyed going back through Duluth again – and being welcomed back to Minnesota!

While we did enjoy the drive – it poured during most of the trip. It is hard to complain about the weather – over the past 3 weeks we have had really nice weather.

Alas, the pouring rain continued once we got to the KOA – including during the set up of the Atlas. Of course the rain pretty much stopped after I was soaked – but that is all part of RV life!

Tomorrow we are back on the road to the great State of North Dakota!
